Retain Wellbeing - Improving lives in our communities

A PASSION FOR IMPROVING LIVES

Retain Wellbeing CIC (Community Interest Company) was formed in 2016 to help improve the lives of people living in our communities. We do this on a not-for-profit basis, meaning any surplus monies created through our varying activities (after costs) are ploughed back into our community projects.

We utilise the acronym GIFT (Getting Involved, Finding Talent) in many of our projects to ensure we never forget that the solutions we seek are often within our own circles of influence.

We have four Directors who have a wide range of experience and who spend their time working towards our Vision which is to prevent isolation and loneliness in adults. To reduce the stigma around mental health and dementia and to create communities which recognise their assets and value everyone for their contribution. Our Mission is to promote sustainable, compassionate communities through Asset Based Community Development.

Everything we invest our time in has to be responsive to a need highlighted by the people we work with. Topics we have covered and continue to support include; tackling Social Isolation, Loneliness, education around dementia, providing social outlets to encourage those affected by dementia to participate, participating in strategic meetings and decision making around the future of health and social care support for those affected by dementia, supporting the discharge from hospital into care provision, encouraging and supporting those with additional needs with volunteer experiences and employment and networking among local communities, care providers and commissioners.
